IKC Balancathon 2018 - The Sign of a Healthy Community

On 29th September 2018 the International Kinesiology College celebrated 30 years of International Conferences by doing something amazing. In communities around the world we balanced heart energy in a mexican wave that travelled around the globe in the first worldwide IKC Balancathon. We weren’t sure how it would turn out but there can be no doubt that it was a huge, resounding success.

Some of the events were small. A friend or two getting together to balance each other between 11:00 and 13:00 (when heart energy its at its peak). Some people weren’t able to be with others at that time so contributed by energy balancing themselves using the varied Touch for Health tool box. And then there were the really big, joyful groups - in Japan, India, Puerto Rico to name but a few. Some with over a hundred participants. Check out some of the photos here.

One event that really touched my heart was the event held in Sulawesi, Indonesia. Earlier that day a terrible Earthquake, followed by landslides and a tsunami, struck. Killing hundreds and making many many more homeless. The Balancathon event was due to take place on the other side of the island which was less affected. The organisers decided to go ahead and were able to help so many people who were in shock and worried about their loved ones. The Touch for Health community at it’s best!

My own event pales in to insignificance by comparison. But as we came together at 1:00, a couple of TFHers and several who had never experienced Touch for Health before, we felt the wave of heart energy being passed to us from our friends in Europe. We held it and enhanced it by doing energy balancing techniques from the TFH repertoire. Powering up what had come to us before sending it on it’s journey around the world.

After the event we, the Balancathon Committee, under the awesome leadership of Robin Brown-Frossard, did a survey of the participants and here are some of the facts and figures Robin has collected:

27 countries participated in the event with an estimated number of 5000 people involved

31 muscle dance videos created before the event

41 live streaming videos (for the moment)

The IKC Commissioned a song perfect for muscle dancing or cross crawling which can be bought for £1.50 from the Touch for Health Charity

Thank you to everyone who made this happen. A special mention to Robin Brown-Frossard who came up with the idea and the plan of action and worked so hard as Chair of the Balancathon Committee in the months leading to the Balancathon… and she stayed awake for the whole 27 hours!

Overall, the Balancathon was a resounding success. Uniting the Touch for Health community around the world, sharing with old friends and new, raising awareness and playing our small part in healing the world. We are already looking forward to the next Balancathon on September 28th 2019. Come join us
