Essential Time Out

Philosophy behind Essential Time Out

Essential Time Out is a small team of therapists working together to facilitate well being using a number of different holistic techniques. We work on a private basis as well as in the corporate setting. We seek to help individuals and organisations optimise their capabilities to lead to a happy, healthy and well-balanced lifestyle. We aim to empower clients and help them find the potential to overcome the natural stresses and strains that life throws at them.

History

In recent years Essential Time Out has undergone a transformation and has come to be a small, highly qualified and talented group of therapists each contributing individual skills. All of our team have successful practices as well as working in corporate settings. Initially founded to provide a quality service within the corporate world, Essential Time Out was founded in 1997 by Helena Argüelles and Rose Meulenbroeks.

Philippa Costello

Philippa became involved in nutrition after suffering from an undiagnosed illness in her early twenties, which was later identified as M.E. On graduating from the renowned Plaskett Nutritional Medicine College she joined a large healthcare company as a nutrition advisor. This enabled her to gain valuable experience in many areas of nutrition before leaving to work as an independent nutritional therapist.

Her work includes preventative nutrition by educating people on healthy eating. She has a particular interest in women’s health, allergies and intolerances, weight loss/gain, digestive disorders, M.E, fatigue, skin disorders and children’s nutrition.

She favours working closely with clients to identify the correct nutrition for them as individuals; this often includes a screening for food intolerances and vitamin and mineral deficiencies. This enables her to use nutrient supplementation where appropriate, although she does favour eating the right foods over supplements.

Her aim is to provide independent professional and appropriate advice for her clients by filtering through the myths and facts so that they can discover the truth about nutrition and their own health.

Philippa is licensed to practice by the British Association of Nutritional Therapists. She has built up a large clientele at the Natural Medicine Centre in Kent, and health centres in and around greater London. She has also tutored for Greenwich Universities BSc Nutritional Therapy course and for BCNH (UK College of Nutrition and Health)
